Woman Leading the Climate Action and Environmental Protection Towards a Livable Planet
At the core of this event is Minister Sonia Guajajara, a powerful voice with extensive experience in indigenous rights and biodiversity protection who shared her expertise and vision for a sustainable future. The distinguished panel delved into how women are addressing centuries old challenges. They are fighting to keep the Amazon Forest standing through ground-level initiatives and advocacy, with the highest echelons of power. Guests in attendance learned about the Amazon's pivotal role in maintaining global climate stability and the urgent solutions needed to restore it aligning with the 1.5” C global warming goal.
This event marked the launch of a new movement. A call to action in support of the leadership of indigenous women in the Amazon and all Brazil biomes, towards strengthening their presence and participation in the path to COP-30. In this high-profile event, part of the UNGA 78 official satellite events, Minister Guajajara extended a global invitation and welcomed influential women from across the world including ministers, first ladies, prime ministers, scientists, celebrities, and young leaders.
4H5H MEDIA and Avaaz partnered on the coordination and production of the “Power of Collaboration: Shifting Culture Through Media, Art, and Storytelling to Drive Change at Scale” discussion panel promoted by the UN Global Compact - Rede Brasil, for the UNGA 78 that took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. Also, in collaboration with Avaaz, 4H5H MEDIA coordinated some of the NY Climate Week opening ceremony events, in support of the Brazilian official government delegation, including the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, the Ministry of the Indigenous Peoples and the Ministry of Women.
